Media bias against Israel

The world media and especially the South African media recently are occupied with Israel. The reports are mostly negative and biased. Seldom do you read or hear about the positive and good things happening in Israel.

The very popular TV program in South Africa, Carte Blanche, aired an interview with a Syrian women connected to the Syrian government. Believe it or not, she blamed Israel for the war in Syria by saying that the Zionist regime is responsible for the killings in Syria.

This week I choose to focus on the positive. Reports you will not see or read in the mainstream media:

Syrian father asks Israeli doctors: Save my son, he’s all I have left

Rambam Medical Center in Haifa performed life-saving brain surgery on a Syrian child. The child was released last week on his own feet and walking. A month and a half ago, the family’s home was levelled, killing the boy’s mother and sister.

Israel also erected a field hospital on the Golan Heights where wounded Syrians are treated.

Israeli einstein Tablet wins British Innovation Award

A new tablet created by an Israeli company won the coveted Bett Prize for technology. The einsteinTablet is not only the best digital gadget of the year, but is also a multi-purpose learning tool for the sciences. Dr. Eli Kalmazon of Fourier systems enthuses about the tablet, “The primary goal of the tablet is for education. It is a concentrated science laboratory.”

This technology could be used to improve the South African school system, but on Wednesday, 26 February, the Department of International Relations will have a debate in parliament to push for sanctions against Israel.

Please pray for wisdom to prevail.
